         Clearly state that you only wish to visit to discuss insurance and payment options. If you schedule any dental treatment you will be required to pay for your treatment that day. Most individual plans require a patient to wait six months to one year before the plan pays for major services.

          Because of this dental insurance waiting period, many patients obtain a dental loan for treatment needed immediately and delay any optional treatment until their new dental insurance plan covers major services.
