Instead of Atlanta Brite Smile, our Atlanta dentists prefer Zoom 2. Both bleaching methods are done over a one hour in office appointment, both use a light activated bleaching gel and both are administered by dental health professionals. The two tooth whitening methods are very similar. However, Zoom 2 is the tooth bleaching procedure used in Extreme Makeovers. We are proud to be able to offer Zoom 2 to our patients.
Rather than become an Atlanta Brite Smile center, the Atlanta Dental Group PC has chosen to offer our patients Zoom 2. During the Zoom 2 appointment, the tooth whitening gel is placed on your teeth for three short 15 minute periods and a zoom light is used to activate the hydrogen peroxide in the gel. As the hydrogen peroxide breaks down, it allows oxygen to enter your teeth and bleach the dentin and enamel. After the three gel applications, a five-minute fluoride treatment is done to decrease tooth sensitivity. Interestingly, many patients' teeth become even whiter during the 24 to 48 hour period after the whitening.
