The Atlanta CranioMandibular Society was a local TMJ Dysfunction study group that met monthly at Northside Hospital. The Society consisted of dentists, physicians, chiropractors, physical therapists and massage therapists. Many of the members were highly accomplished in their own professions.
This study group was very unique because TMJ Dysfunction cases were review from many different viewpoints which helped to provide valuable insights to its members. Having a chiropractor comment on an unusually neck while an orthodontist was reviewing a case made for very interesting conversation. When an ear, nose and throat physician commented on the breathing and allergy patterns so some cases, it often completely opened up a new way of thinking about patient signs and symptoms.
The Society was truly a multi-disciplinary study group that developed a wholistic viewpoint. In 1992 the Society was disbanded and all Society funds were donated to the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Padolsky is a Fellow of the Atlanta CranioMandibular Society and also served as a past President and past Annual Meeting Chairman for this group.
