The Atlanta Dental Group PC seeks an self motivated individual to fully take over all financial aspects of our dental practice. The position requires a person with a college bachelors degree in accounting or business management or two or more years practical experience in this specific area managing an actual dental practice. Please do NOT apply without one of these qualifications. This is a career position for someone who is willing to make a long term commitment to managing our dental practice. Training for this position is extensive and will take six months to a year. The candidate's focus must be on learning and nothing else. Applicant who are currently attending school should not apply.
We are willing to train an interested candidate but much of the learning will come from home based handbooks and other training materials. Knowledge in Microsoft products, especially the Windows operating system, is essential. The Atlanta Dental Group PC accounts receivable system uses PracticeWorks, a dental software program, which integrates with our electronic billing system and electronic dental insurance claims system. Once mastered, these computer systems make the job easy. The base PracticeWorks system is easy to learn and understand but the advanced features require time and study to master. A demonstration PracticeWorks CD is available for home study. Dr. Mark Allan Padolsky will be working closely with this new staff member.
The Financial Manager manages all dental and medical insurance claims. This can be complex at first but once understood, it's easy to manage. Again, handbooks are available. Once mastered these tasks become very simple and routine.The financial manager supervises one full time financial assistant and co-supervises several other dental staff members. This position requires the ability to direct, correct and if necessary, reprimand other staff members.
We love our patients and the financial manager works with our patients to help them overcome the barriers to dental care. However, some of the responsibility does involve discussing unpaid and overdue balances and acting as a liaison with a professional collection agency. Accounts Payable is based on Quickbooks double entry system. It's an easy to use accounting system. Much of our payables is done with credit cards so there are very few checks to enter.
