Both tooth bleaching methods are done over a one hour in office appointment, both use a light activated bleaching gel and both are administered by dental health professionals. The two tooth whitening methods are very similar but Zoom 2 is the tooth bleaching procedure used in Extreme Makeover.

          Rather than become a Brite Smile center, the Atlanta Dental Group PC has chosen to offer our patients Zoom 2. During the Zoom 2 appointment, the whitening gel is placed on your teeth for three short 10 minute periods and the zoom light is used to activate the hydrogen peroxide in the gel. As the hydrogen peroxide breaks down, it allows oxygen to enter your teeth and bleach the dentin and enamel. After the three gel applications, a five-minute fluoride treatment is done to decrease tooth sensitivity.

          Compare the price differences between Brite Smile centers and Zoom 2. Zoom 2 is often less costly. Cost does matter especially if you plan on having other cosmetic dental work performed. Both bleaching methods also have similar after care products to help you keep your pretty white smile longer.
