bulimia tip

Here is a bulimia tip to help control bulimia tooth decay from stomach acid. Vomit contains Hydrochloric acid (HCL) which is the primary acid causing tooth destruction. If the hydrochloric acid is immediately neutralized, the negative effects of bulimia on the teeth is reduced.

It is known in chemistry that bases neutralize acids. Bicarbonate of Soda (Arm and Hammer Baking Soda) can be dissolved in water and stored in a bottle in your refrigerator. If you swish this basic solution in your mouth immediately after vomiting, the solution neutralizes the hydrochloric acid and this bulimia tip can reduce the worst dental effect of bulimia.

Fill a pot with tap water and place some bicarbonate of soda in it. Increase the temperature slowly and continue to add bicarbonate of soda while it is still dissolving. The purpose of adding the bicarbonate slowly is to saturate the tap water with as much of the this base as the water can take. When the white bicarbonate falls to the bottom of the pan and does not dissolve, the water is saturated. Turn the heat off and let the water cool to room temperature. You can add Cool Aid or Crytal Lite to give it some color and taste.

Following this bulimia tip can help but a bulimic should visit their dentist regularly. Dr. Padolsky is experienced in treating patients with bulimia and has been for 26 years.
