Dentures Glue
Dentures glue is not necessarily a requirement for the denture wearing experience. A well designed pair of dentures should fit well without problems, but some people prefer to use glue such as Fixodent to keep the dentures in place. Dentures glue can significantly improve a patients biting force and over all comfort. Yet there is no accounting for taste, some people prefer to use it and other people prefer not to.
Dentures glue can also prove very useful for those with dry mouths, which affects the fit of the dentures. If you are thinking about trying a dentures glue it is generally a good idea to start off with a small amount the first time you use it, adding more as seems fit on subsequent applications. While dentures glue is not harmful if swallowed, excessive use can cause tissue damage. These glues can also leave residues on the gums after removal of the dentures, which should be brushed off just as if brushing teeth.
Dentures glue is not something you should wear if your dentures are constantly loose and/or causing you discomfort. Over time the human mouth will change and it is therefore necessary to have a dentures reline whenever your mouth has changed to a point that wearing dentures proves difficult. If you are experiencing these symptoms the best idea is to go tour dentist as soon as possible to see what can be done.
