Invisalign Problem

invisalign problem

One Invisalign problem is that a patient can take an Invisalign aligner out and not wear it very much. When the patient tries to go to the next aligner in two weeks, it really doesn't fit. This is because the previous aligner wasn't worn enough and didn't move the patient's teeth to where they were supposed to be for the next aligner. If you can't wear your aligner very much, use each aligner more than the regular two weeks. Also, let your dentist know that you are having troubles wearing your aligners.

Another Invisalign problem is when the aligner gets stained and discolored. Don't eat with the aligners in. Take them out and place the aligners in the retainer box while you eat and then after brushing and rinsing, put them back in. Smoking also discolors aligners. Take your appliances out when smoking or better yet, quit smoking.

A major Invisalign problem is when a patient loses his or her aligners. Teeth can relapse and shift if an aligner is left out because the rest of the aligners are lost. Yes, it cost more to get new aligners made and it IS a big problem. Store your aligners safely and let everyone know that they are important.

There can be an Invisalign problem when it's necessary for your teeth to be reshaped and you don't show up for the reshaping/stripping appointment. Many Invisalign treatment plans require that your teeth are reshaped and made slightly smaller to fit into your dental arch size and mouth. If you miss these appointments, the teeth won't fit into the next aligner very well. The dentists at the Atlanta Dental Group PC are dedicated to their patients' good health and well being.
