Root Canal Cause

root canal cause

The root canal cause can be any of several reasons. In most cases, the patient has a dead tooth that resulted from extensive tooth decay. Unfortunately, tooth decay can spread throughout a tooth without any pain, especially in a patient with a sweet tooth. By the time some patients know that they have a dental problem, they need root canal therapy. Some patients do have hot and cold sensitivity or sensitivity to sweets but they often ignore it. However, many patients have a tremendous amount of root canal pain and need immediate dental emergency services.

In some cases, the root canal cause is a fracture of a tooth. This happens a lot with the front two teeth since they are the most prominent teeth in the mouth. It can happen in a fight, from a fall or simply from someone hitting a glass or bottle that you have near your mouth. Fortunately, the treatment of front teeth is easy and fast. An all porcelain dental crown looks natural and most people are not able to recognize that a patient has a false front tooth. The mandibular second molar teeth commonly crack. Because of their position in the dental arch, they experience most of the crushing forces exerted by the chewing muscles.

Another root canal cause is when a tooth moves dramatically out of place and the only way to shorten it or straighten it up is to do endodontic therapy and a dental crown. This is called an elective root canal and is sometimes done for cosmetic reasons or in order to make room for an opposing dental bridge or partial denture. Of course, this procedure should always be part of a well thought out personalized plan of treatment.
