A root canal symptom is tooth pain that lasts longer than a minute. Constant pain indicates that there is a great deal of inflammation around a tooth. This inflammation can cause root canal swelling in the periodontal ligament around the tooth and the tooth lifts up out of its socket. The tooth then feels high when you bite and continued battering of the top of the tooth causes more pain and more inflammation.
Another
root canal symptom is
dental pain that wakes you up at night. Sleep is really important
and our bodies want to get their rest so it is not normal to wake
up out of a deep sleep with tooth pain. Much of this pain is due
to tooth grinding. The
body wants to push the inflamed and elevated tooth back into its
socket and this causes more pain and inflammation. It's a vicious
cycle.
Tremendous
tooth pain is almost always a
root canal symptom and many women patients
have stated that their tooth pain was worse than having their
babies. There is also often a tooth
abscess at the end of the root of a tooth that has died.
This abscess can grow and force its way through the jaw bone.
The associated inflammation and dental
infection can cause a great deal of pain and the swelling
can grown and block the airway off.
