TMD Dentist

          Dr. Mark Padolsky is a TMD dentist who practices with the Atlanta Dental Group PC in the Midtown/Buckhead area of Atlanta, Georgia. He has been caring for patients with temporomandibular joint dysfunction since 1982 and has taught TMD courses for dentists at the University of Alabama School of Dentistry and the University of Pittsburg School of Dentistry. Dr. Padolsky graduated from the Emory University School of Dentistry with a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) Degree in 1982. At that time there were no TMD courses taught at the school. He believes in lifelong professional learning and is actively involved in attending continuing education course to update his knowledge in his chosen profession.

         In 1990 this TMD dentist received a Fellowship in the Atlanta Craniomandibular (TMJ) Society. The Society was dedicated to the multi disciplinary study of TMJ Dysfunction. Dr. P is also a past president of this society and served as Vice President and General Meeting Chairman in 1989.In September 2000, Dr. Padolsky again earned a Fellowship in the American Orthodontic Society. He was also given an Achievement Award by the AOS for his extensive participation in continuing education related to orthodontics.         

         Because of his extensive background, TMD dentist Dr. Padolsky can perform both the initial and the final phases of TMJ treatment and is comfortable working with other dentists in a team approach to treating shared patients. His treatment philosophy focuses on discovering and dealing with the causes of pain rather than covering them up with prescription medications. Initial treatment is aimed at reducing or eliminating the muscle related jaw pain which 90% of all TMJ patients have.
