tooth ache pain

Tooth ache pain is a sign that something is wrong and the best time to take care of something wrong is right away. The best thing to do is to see an emergency dentist as soon as possible. The discomfort can range for mild, such as hot and cold sensitivity, to very severe, such as with a constant throbbing tooth ache pain.

If treated early, a root canal or dental extraction could be avoided. Unfotunately, teeth do not handle tooth ache pain well so if the inflammation and discomfort continues, the tooth could die. In many cases, a soothing temporary filling can be inserted in the tooth to calm it down. If money is an issue, a partial root canal, called a pulpectomy, can be performed to reduce or eliminate the discomfort and the final root canal can be performed later. In children, only the part of the nerve inside the baby crown is removed. This is called a pulpotomy.

Tooth ache pain is best treated early. Teeth are primarily made of hard tissue that does not heal well so the help of a dentist is really necessary. The nerve inside a tooth is confined to the limited space available in the pulp chamber and root canals. The tissue inside the tooth has no room to swell so when it becomes inflamed and tries to swell, it can be very painful. The entrance into the tooth is limited to a very small openings at the tips of the tooth roots. It is very difficult for medicines to get into the tooth through these very small openings.
