Tooth extraction prices should always be openly discussed with the dentist before starting any tooth extraction procedure. They vary and are all based on the difficulty of the procedure needed. Some teeth are fully erupted into the mouth and have small roots and do not cost very much. Other teeth are inside the bone and have their roots wrapped around the nerve. In most cases, these procedures run from $125 to $150. The dentist's fee usually includes one follow up post operative visit after the tooth extraction to check your healing.
Tooth extraction prices increase if an incision has to be made into the gums and the gums have to be reflected off of the tooth. This is called a soft tissue impaction and requires additional time and energy compared to a simple extraction. If a tooth has some bone covering it, it is called a partial bony extraction because some bone has to be removed to successfully to the procedure. This costs more than a soft tissue impaction. Fees for these impactions run from about $ 200.00 to $ 350.00. If sutures were placed, the fee usually includes a follow up visit to remove the stitches.
The most difficult oral surgery is the removal of a bony impaction. Tooth extraction prices in these cases are more costly because of the special equipment necessary and the difficulty of doing them. These fees range from $350.00 to $ 650.00 per tooth. Some patients choose to have general anaesthesia for difficult procedures and this adds to the total dental cost. Dr. Mark Allan Padolsky, a dentist in Atlanta, performs the dental surgery for the dental group.
