Toothache Cure

toothache cure

The toothache cure that works for you depends on the cause of your problem. When dental pain is caused by the pulpitis from a small tooth cavity, placing a small cotton ball soaked with oil of cloves into the tooth cavity sometimes helps. An over the counter pain reliever such as aspirin, acetaminophen or ibuprofen may help calm the discomfort down. It is possible that your tooth could heal and recover without serious dental treatment. However, a dental cavity usually grows and digests the entire tooth. At some point you should consider visiting a dentist to prevent this destruction and possible tooth loss.

A temporary toothache cure is to compress ice over the area that hurts. Continuously sipping ice cold water can also provide some toothache relief but if the pain continues for over an hour or so, you really need to see an emergency dentist. The cold temperature can decrease tooth pain but it also decreases your body's ability to fight dental infections. Unfortunately, over using ice can lengthen the amount of time that you have toothache pain.

Unfortunately, when someone has a dead tooth, or a dental abscess, the only toothache cure is to either remove the tooth or do a root canal. Herbal remedies will not revive the dead. Deadly super bacteria resistant to antibiotics are appearing, so it is very important to manage dental infections early when they are easier to treat successfully.
